Different methodologies are adopted in the Guitar lessons, according to the age and level of each student.
Up to 6 years old, it is frequent to use methods working with colours as a teaching aid for learning musical notes and
songs. From 6 years old on, the most common method is called “Suzuki”. This is a widely known method which uses
sound imitation to lead students into learning music.

Independently of their age, violin classes will always be adapted by the teacher according to students’ skills. A
combination of both methods will be made whenever needed, so as to achieve better results, also using classic and

more commercial songs and themes to motivate students. Whenever it is possible, there will be an “orchestra” lesson,
so that students can listen to their friends playing. In this level, we recommend weekly classes of 45 min. in groups of
4 students maximum.*

Different methodologies are adopted in the Piano lessons, according to the age and level of each student.
Between 3 – 5 years old – games with 5 sounds (do, re, mi, fa and sol). The name of the musical notes is substituted
by en extra-musical code (images, objects and colours). The act of singing is highlighted as a way to develop listening
skills through sounds, heights and rhythm recognition in a playful approach. These elements will be introduced later
on in the process of learning and in a more concrete way.

In this level, we recommend weekly classes of 20-30 min (depending on the attention span of the child)
5 – 8 years old – From 5 years old on, the Little Mozarts method is used, beginning the learning of musical notes,
sound recognition, the perception of height, duration and rhythm. The musical language starts to be constructed in a
concrete way.

In this level, we recommend weekly classes of 30 min.
8 years old and + – From 8 years on, several piano methods are used, working to achieve progress in learning an
instrument, with technique and musicality.

The Music teacher adapts the musical repertoire according to the need, the will and likes of each student, so that
she’s able to motivate students and get the best results from them.
The aim is to achieve a deep knowledge of the piano technique, as well as of the musical language.
In this level, we recommend classes of 45 m.

The main aims of teaching guitar is to motivate and develop a fine taste for the instrument.
Different themes and plays can be used according to the age of the student. There will be always the possibility to
choose the Classic way, although they can also choose more commercial themes, according to their personal taste and
interest.

Ocasionaly, group lessons may be agended, not only with students of different levels of guitar learning, but also with
the violins and other musical instruments available in school.

This way, students will acquire the notion of playing in a “band” and in an “orchestra”.

Music classes are designed not only for children from the age of 3 (5 years in the case of the guitar), but also for teenagers and adults who want to start or continue their musical education.
